...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM HST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1020 AM HST, radar and rain gages indicated that heavy rainfall continues over portions of Oahu. The highest rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour were over east Oahu from Palolo to Hawaii Kai. Rain rates over west Oahu have decreased to under one inch per hour. Radar and satellite data showed that rainfall will continue to move over Oahu from the south over the next several hours. - This advisory includes the entire island of Oahu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action. A Flood Watch is also in effect for Oahu through Friday evening. && This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1145 AM HST if flooding; persists.
